About me

Wujie Wen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Yiran Chen (Now in Duke Univerity). Before joining NC State, he was an Assistant Professor and tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lehigh University, and an Assistant Professor at Florida International University. Prior to joining academia, he worked at AMD and Broadcom. His research focuses on application- and workload-aware AI computing through system–hardware co-design and design automation, with an emphasis on efficient, secure, reliable, and privacy-preserving computing systems. His work spans AI/ML systems and hardware, private and trustworthy AI, embedded and cyber-physical systems, and emerging computing technologies. His research has been published in leading venues (mostly CSRankings conference) across design automation, computer architecture, systems, security, and AI/ML, including DAC, ICCAD, ISCA, MICRO, HPCA, ICS, MLSys, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, CCS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR CVPR, ICCV, ECCV and AAAI. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and other sponsors. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, the 2023 IEEE/ACM William J. McCalla ICCAD Best Paper Award (one of the top two papers among 750 submissions), and the DAC A. Richard Newton Graduate Scholarship, the most prestigious Ph.D. scholarship awarded annually by the EDA community. He has also received multiple best paper nominations at all major EDA conferences, including DAC, ICCAD, DATE, and ASP-DAC, and has served in various conference leadership, editorial, and program committee roles.
